In 1983 the Cadets advanced to the "HC" class and placed in the finals for Provincials and Nationals. They also competed in the Great Lakes Championships in Windsor and won this title. They were the only Canadian corps to compete at the Cadet Corps International in Madison, Wisconsin and placed fifth out of nine corps.
